180 Music’s official website has information on the
Phil Ramone-produced compilation that will be available exclusively
at Target stores on February 27.
Titled Music from an Old Friend: Singer Songwriter Legends,
the disc will feature a collection of artists such as Carole
King, Kenny Loggins, Eric Clapton, Stephen Bishop, Brian Wilson,
Burt Bacharach, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Paul Williams
and others. Each artist will perform two songs: one will be
an updated version of one of their classics, and the other
will be a brand new song.
Carole King will perform a new version of “Home Again”
from 1971’s Tapestry, this time as a duet with
Suzan Agbor. Her new song is called “Say Goodbye Today”.
A clip of “Home Again” can be heard here.
Kenny Loggins reinterprets “A Love Song,” originally
heard on the 1973 Loggins & Messina album Full Sail.
“I’ll Remember Your Name” is the new song
he’ll be performing.
